Travel
In general, travel to Hong Kong does not require a visa. But depending on the traveler and the purpose of their visit, there are different types available. See if you’re from one of the countries that requires a visa to enter the country.
A letter of invitation for convention should not be required. However, if it is requested, you will be able to download one from the confirmation email sent after completing your convention registration.
Requirements for entering Hong Kong as a foreign national are different than those for entering mainland China. Check out the Country Entry Requirements webpage to learn more.
You can find ideas for fun tourist destinations on the City Attractions webpage.
Unlike Hong Kong, mainland China requires a tourist visa and a passport that will be valid for at least six months. Your passport must have at least two blank pages. In addition, you must have an invitation letter from a China travel agency or an individual, or round-trip tickets and a hotel booking. Mainland China does have a visa-free transit policy for some eligible countries — check and see if you are from one of these countries.

Assigning delegates
Every Lions club in good standing can participate in the election of executive officers and international directors and can vote on amendments to the association’s by-laws by assigning delegates to represent the club at the international convention.
For a Lions club to be considered in “good standing” and eligible for delegates during the international convention, the club must not be in status quo or financial suspension, and must have:
- District (single, sub- and multiple) dues and fees paid in full; and
- No unpaid balance of international dues and fees greater than US$10, outstanding more than 30 days; and
- No unpaid Lions Clubs International account balance greater than US$50, outstanding more than 90 days.
Club delegates can be assigned online by the club president or secretary between January 1 and July 1, 2026 at 23:59 US Central Daylight Time.
Get additional information on assigning club delegates by watching the how-to video.
A new delegate can be assigned in the voting area at the event venue. The new delegate will need to be accompanied by a current authorized club officer* or district officer** and both the delegate and officer will need to provide a physical government-issued photo ID.

Each club is allowed one delegate for every 25 members or major fraction thereof. The Lion Portal will inform you when your club has reached its maximum number of delegates.
No, assignment of delegates must be performed electronically at any time between January 1 and July 1, 2026 at 23:59 US Central Daylight Time.
When a club officer assigns a delegate, that delegate will receive an email with their confirmation number.
In order to assign a delegate, the delegate must have an email address that is not shared with any other Lion or Leo on file with Lions Clubs International. A club officer or council staff member can update a delegate’s email address.
Voting
Verify that your club president or club secretary did not reassign the role of club delegate to another member. If you are still assigned as a delegate, email to memberservicecenter@lionsclubs.org for assistance.
No, delegates can only vote if their club is in good standing.
Be sure you have your voter confirmation number, your convention name badge and a physical government-issued photo ID.
Once your votes are submitted, they cannot be modified.
The voting system does allow you to preview the ballot before submitting, so you may verify all your selections.
The election results will be presented during the final plenary session on July 7.
Attending the Business Session is recommended to learn more about the official Rules of Procedure and certification of credentials and voting, to receive information on amendments to the International Constitution and By-Laws, and to hear from candidates. Please review the schedule for business session times.
